You might have heard of the gut microbiome (and we’re planning a Circle guest to help us get more clued up on that!) but have you heard of the ‘social biome’?

According to researchers, the social biome encompasses our emotional, psychological and physical health and is directly impacted by both ‘restorative alone time and meaningful social interactions’. Of course, the balance of what works best will depend on you. One person’s party is another person’s hell and all that. But, the findings suggest that in general we thrive when we have a variety of interaction, including more meaningful ones. Control over our ‘social diet’ is also vital. There are various exchanges we don’t get to control, and these will drain our battery to a varying extent depending on our personality. Control over how and when we interact, the opportunity to feel and express concern for others, and frequency of meaningful interactions have been found beneficial to wellbeing.

At the Circle Space we create opportunities for meaningful discussion, easy rapport and nature- inspired calm.
